CARICC – IS A STANDING INTERGOVERNMENTAL BODY TO COORDINATE EFFORTS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST TRANSNATIONAL DRUG-RELATED CRIME

TRAINING FOR OFFICERS OF STATE BORDER SERVICE OF THE KYRGYZ REPUBLIC

During the period from June 27 to July 01, 2016, at the initiative of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Kyrgyz Republic in Osh, Kyrgyz Republic, a training was organized and conducted in the Center for Professional Advancement facilities of the KR SBS, with the participation of instructors among from the officers of the CARICC Information and Analytical Division. The training aimed at acquiring skills to operate a designated software “I2 Analyst Notebook”6 and «I2 iBase» (Basic Course) by the officers of the KR SBS.

REGULAR TRAINING FOR THE OFFICERS OF THE BORDER SERVICE OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN NATIONAL SECURITY COMMITTEE

On the 13th -17th of June, a regular training for the officers of the border control authorities of the Border Service of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in South Kazakhstan region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. This training was aimed at organization of profiling at the checkpoints.

A Meeting with the Delegation of the German Federal Criminal Police Agency (BKA) in CARICC

On the 03rd of June 2016, B. Zhunusov, Director of CARICC, B. Suvanaliyev, Head of the CARICC Division to Coordinate International Operations, and R. Otkelbayev, Head of the CARICC Information and Analytical Division, P Anverli, Liaison Officer of the State Customs Committee of the Azerbaijan Republic with CARICC, met with with a delegation from the German Federal Criminal Police Agnecy (BKA) represented by Mr. Udo Renneke, Criminal Director of the BKA Inspection Department, mr. Stephanie Zaro, BKA Officer, and Mr. Michael Pabst, BKA Liaison Officer.

A meeting of CARICC Director with the Regional Program Coordinator of the American Bar Association “Judicial Monitoring of Criminal Cases Related to Drug Trafficking in Central Asia”

On the 03rd of June 2016, a meeting of Mr. B. Zhunusov, CARICC Director, with Ayaz Bayetov, Regional Program Coordinator of the American Bar Association “Judicial Monitoring of Criminal Cases Related to Drug Trafficking in Central Asia” was held in CARICC.
During the meeting the parties exchanged views on the issues of tackling illicit drug trafficking in the Central Asian countries applicable to the competence of these two organizations, set possible areas of cooperation.

Concerning implementation of the preventive operation ‘Koknar-2016’

On the 1st of June 2016, representatives of CARICC participated in a briefing in Shu, Zhambyl region, to implement preventive operation ‘Koknar-2016’, organized by the Counter-Narcotics Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Representatives of the National Security Committee, the Border Service of the National Security Committee, the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance, the Akimat of Zhambyl region, heads of the territorial counter-narcotics units, officers of task force units of law enforcement bodies and military men of the National Guard of the Republic of Kazakhstan participated in the opening of preventive operation ‘Koknar-2016’.
